The Add property page creates a monitored property in your local Siteimp Watch workspace. It asks for the minimum information Watch needs before it can start checking a URL: a readable property name, a full primary URL, and a few monitoring defaults.
When you create a property, Watch also creates the first target. The primary URL becomes that first target, so the new property is useful immediately.
Adding a property does not run a full website scan. Siteimp Watch is a monitoring app. It checks targets on a schedule while the app is running and your computer is awake.
What this page is for
The Add property page answers one practical question:
What should Siteimp Watch monitor first?
A property gives Watch a stable local home for:
- the property name
- the primary URL
- the registrable domain
- monitoring defaults for the property
- the first target
- target state
- future monitoring results
This keeps setup simple. Add the property first, then use the property dashboard to review status, adjust targets, and tune monitoring behavior.
What you can do here
Add a property name
The Property name field is the label Watch uses in the app.
It does not have to match the domain exactly. Use a name that will make sense when you return to the app later.
